I had a very sad start to my day today. I was notified on facebook that a friend with whom I grew up had died overnight. I had not seen him since we graduated from high school, about 36 years ago. I moved away from my hometown a year after graduation and have not seen many people from back then. It has been wonderful to re-connect with some of those I knew all those years ago, but some things are rather to hear about also.
It upset me immensely to learn of his death, but more f

I see more in life that people, even Christians, looking out for themselves, only wanting to associate with the people that are their friends, and making other people feel like they aren't important.
In my own life I have experienced this from other Christians with statements like "How can I help," "What do you want,' What do you need?" We as Christians should nev

just yesterday, the words of song writer Ray Boltz hit me like never before, that heaven is counting on me!
never had that phrase meant so much like it is in our days when compromise has taken a centre stage and people have grown a cold approach to christianity. The days of daniel, joseph and all those great men of God are gone and now you and i are the ones whom heaven is counting on! shall we sit down and keep silent as slowly the society embarks on a self destructive path?..secularism o

Do you keep a bible handy whenever you go out of the house? If someone asked to borrow a bible from you to look up a verse, would you have on with you to lend?
Paul writes that we are to arm ourselves with the breastplate of righteousness and to wield the sword given to us, which is the Word of God.
Remember, however, that the Word of God is not confined to the book that you hold in your hands but is the Word which we learn and wield in our hearts.

Now, we are looking at the next verse, Romans 14:15...
If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother because of what you for whom Christ died.
Well, that makes things a little more specific, doesn't it? So, we aren't doing bad if we don't see our actions as bad and they aren't prohibited by the bible, but if we do these things so that a brother or sister in the faith who consi

Let's look in Romans chapter 14, verse 14:
As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.
This is not just talking about food, but everything we do. So, if what one man does he does without considering it bad, and it is not prohibited by the Bible, then he is not doing anything bad. But if another person considers that thing to be bad, then to him i

We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do not do what I want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me...For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of… Continue
